Popular Fife bakery closes ten stores

A popular Fife bakery has temporarily closed some of its stores for the first time in the company’s 163 year history.

Stuart’s managing director Keith Stuart announced on Facebook that ten stores would be closing due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, six will remain open along with the butchery units.

Mr Stuart wrote: “We are so immensely proud of our staff who have kept working to keep the food chain moving to supply local communities with bread and rolls and meat produce when the supermarket shelves were bare.

“Thank you to our customers too who have behaved wonderfully well in difficult situations treating all our staff with the utmost respect while they are continuing their jobs.

“To everyone thank you again. See you soon we will beat this.”
