Popular Fife farm shop launches delivery service

Farm shop, Balgove Larder, has started a new free home delivery service aimed at helping vulnerable members of the local community who may be less familiar with online shopping.

Items are available to order over the telephone and include hearty and balanced ready-meals, fresh fruit and vegetables, and meat prepared by the in-house butchery team. The service is particularly aimed at those self-isolating and will include the option of leaving orders in a designated safe space or ringing the doorbell and placing on doorstops.

Will Docker, founder of Balgove Larder, said: “As a community, we really do have to help one another. At Balgove Larder we grow and rear a good proportion of the produce in the shop and this single-link supply chain means we are well equipped to supply produce.

“We’re aware that some in the community are less familiar with online shopping so this new telephone system is aimed particularly at them. We do have our online shop in operation too for nationwide deliveries and of course our shop remains open with additional precautions in keeping with government guidelines.”

The delivery system is available in the St Andrews and immediate surrounding areas and is aimed at those self-isolating, particularly those who are less comfortable shopping over the Internet.
