The funds can help with PPE, hand sanitiser stations and protective screens as well as internal signage.

Fife Council is inviting applications from businesses across all its town centres.

Councillor Altany Craik, convener of the economy committee, said: “This new grant can give some much-needed help to many of our smaller businesses, as they try and recover from the lockdown.

“It can help the likes of shops, cafes and offices comply with the current public health regulations, giving some added confidence and comfort to staff and customers alike, to stay local and spend local.”

He added: “This latest funding, being administered by Business Gateway Fife, is just one of our projects now underway that will provide an extra boost for Fife’s economy and support new measures for town centres, addressing immediate concerns and helping our communities recover.”
