Clean energy experts Morag Watson, director of policy for Scottish Renewables, NECCUS CEO Mike Smith, Jacqueline Redmond, non-executive director for Scottish National Investment Bank and executive director at the Power Networks Demonstration Centre, and Richard Cockburn, partner at Womble Bond Dickinson, will discuss how to deliver genuine economic growth alongside environmental benefit for the whole nation.

The event has been created for supply chain businesses, investors, developers and businesses looking to join Scotland’s clean energy revolution.

Sponsored by law firm Womble Bond Dickinson, it will take a practical look at the clean energy sector and consider what steps must Scotland take to ensure a meaningful green recovery from Covid-19.

Host David Lee will lead the discussion around which successful clean energy projects can be scaled up and replicated across Scotland – and potentially beyond. Other topics under discussion will include investment: where is investment most needed to deliver clean energy infrastructure? And how do we deploy funds quickly and smartly?

Plus, what are the live opportunities for supply chain companies – and how can small businesses take advantage?

Speaker Morag Watson is a specialist in behaviour change and learning for sustainability with over 20 years’ experience. She advises the Scottish Government on sustainable development, climate change and education, and worked as a learning for sustainability adviser to UNESCO.

Mike Smith heads up NECCUS, an alliance of industry, academia and government with unparalleled experience in carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS). NECCUS will enable the development of the first industrial scale CCUS project in Scotland, through advocacy, industrial and public engagement, communication and education.

Jacqueline Redmond is on a mission to enable innovation to deliver net zero carbon emissions in her role as executive director of the University of Strathclyde’s Power Networks Demonstration Centre (PNDC), a unique facility to research, test and accelerate multi-vector energy systems to help shape the future of global energy solutions.

Richard Cockburn is a partner in Womble Bond Dickinson's energy and natural resources group who has worked with developers and contractors in the renewable energy sector on projects ranging from onshore and offshore windfarms to renewable heat, solar, wave, tidal and other projects.
