RS McColl’s has confirmed a second branch closure in Fife.

The store’s Cadham branch in Glenrothes will close its doors at the end of next month.

Earlier this week, the company confirmed the closure of its Glamis Centre shop in the town, along with others in Perth and Glasgow.

The Glamis Centre shop will shut on October 16.

McColl’s in Cadham - which has been part of the town for over 30 years - will close on October 30, and the Post Office within it will cease on October 20.

A spokesman for the retailer said: Having explored all options, regretfully we have taken the difficult decision to cease trading at the McColl’s stores in Cadham and Glamis Centre, both in Glenrothes.

“We are saddened to no longer be operating the stores and our priority has been to support all affected colleagues.”

It is understood there are no current plans to closure its stores in North Street, Glenrothes, or High Street, Kirkcaldy.
