Shipping containers planned for artists and crafters at Fife harbour

Plans to use shipping containers as studios and workshops have been approved.

North Queensferry Community Trust has been given the go-ahead to use the land at a former railway culvert north of the town’s harbour.

It is currently used as for storage, and as an informal parking area.

It plans to put five containers - each 20-feet in length - on to the site.

One will be used for people working with, and learning how to use, tools.

The units will operate seven days each week, and also be used to store kayaks and associated equipment, as well as giving space to local artists and crafts people.

The applicant plans to paint them green to merge into the local landscape.

Approval was given this week by Fife Council.
