It is understood that there have been three positive tests at Capshard Primary School in Kirkcaldy.

In a message sent out to parents of the affected classes this morning, head teacher Caroline Bruce, said: “We understand that there has been a positive test in the class. This has not yet been confirmed by Public Health.

"It is therefore my recommendation that the pupils in this class self isolate until Thursday 3rd December.

"I apologise for the lack of information surrounding this case, as in the past my experience has been a quick response from Public Health.

"This may be due to the high number of positive tests at present.

"Please collect your child at the earliest convenience.

"Children will be taught on Teams at home for the next week.”

Both Fife Council and NHS Fife have refused to comment.
