A new single case has been identified at Kirkcaldy High requiring 44 pupils in S2 to self-isolate until Christmas Day.
The move was confirmed by the school at the end of last week but headteacher Derek Allan reassured parents there is ‘no cause for alarm’ and that the situation is under control.

"We have identified 44 pupils in S2 as contacts and they will now need to self-isolate until Christmas Day. Those affected have been informed. I just want you to know to dispel any rumours and so that you will not be overly concerned by the situation. There is no cause for alarm, please be assured that it is under control.”
He added: “This is a strong reminder that we need to be alert to the risk and to minimise the spread of this virus. If there are any significant changes to this situation, we will update you.”
Mr Allan added that in a separate move, as a precautionary measure, in the run up to Christmas, a very high number of families have taken the decision to keep their children at home this week.
