Road safety awareness day for Fife primary school pupils

Pupils at a Fife primary school have taken part in a national road safety awareness week.

Children from St. Ninians Primary School, Cardenden, took part in the Safe Roads for All week - which ran between November 14-20.

Pupils spent a day with community officers from Police Scotland along with Fern Barclay, Kingdom Housing Association’s health and safety advisor, and Mia Hastings, Kingdom Housing Association’s communications and media trainee.

The officers spoke to pupils about road safety at pedestrian crossings, and the role of the police in road safety among other topics.

Scott Williams, head of programme delivery at Brake, said: “Every child’s right to be able to walk and cycle in their community without fear of traffic and pollution. Children must be able to walk safely in the places where they live.

“We’re delighted Kingdom Housing Association and St Ninians are getting involved in Road Safety Week and shouting out for their right to make safe and healthy journeys every day”
