140 extra parking spaces at Victoria Hospital by Spring

The news will be welcomed by visitors who struggle to find places to park at busy times, with many using nearby residential streets.

NHS Fife has confirmed it is to significantly expand parking provision at the hospital .

Planning permission has been granted for the creation of an additional 139 spaces, with works planned to begin this month and be completed by the end of March.

The hospital currently has more than 1000 publicly available parking spaces.

The new ones will be situated on the south east of the hospital site, expanding what is currently Car Park L.

Andrew Fairgrieve, director of estates and facilities, said: “We are acutely aware of the pressures on car parking, and the effects this has on patients, visitors and those living in the vicinity of the hospital.

“We hope the additional spaces will provide considerable benefit to patients, staff and visitors.”
