While a network of community venues continue to offer the jabs, NHS Fife has confirmed a number of chemists are also on board.

Dr Esther Curnock, deputy director of public health,, said: “Flu can be serious and people with certain underlying health conditions are more at risk of flu-related complications.

“The flu jab remains the safest and most effective way to help protect against flu and its complications and getting vaccinated takes only a few minutes."

She added: “Even if you feel healthy or your condition is well managed you should still get the vaccination.”

Changes have been made to the delivery of flu vaccination this year.

Rather than attend their local GP practice to get the flu jab, those eligible should have received a letter asking them to make an appointment.
