Coronavirus: Fife branches of McDonald's close all seating areas

The fast food giant is turning all its restaurants into takeaway, delivery or drive-thru only.

It is the latest curtailment announced by a major company in a bid to halt the spread of the virus.

McDonald’s has multiple branches across the region, with two in Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes and outlets in Leven in Dunfermline.

The change took effect from 5:00am on Wednesday.

A statement from McDonald’s said: “All our drive thrus and McDelivery orders via Uber Eats and Just Eats will be contact free, with no physical contact between customers, employees and couriers wherever possible.”

It added: “In these unprecedented times, our restaurants will continue to remain open for as long as it is safe to do so."
