Coronavirus: Fife positive cases confirmed

Two people have tested positive for coronavirus in Fife.

Confirmation came in the latest update from the Scottish Government this afternoon.

The two were among five new cases reported in Scotland, taking the total to eleven.

All five have been confirmed within the last 24 hours after 269 people were screened.

To date, Scotland has tested 1525 people with 1514 returning negative results.

The positive cases are: Tayside (1); Ayrshire and Arran (1); Forth Valley (2); Grater Glasgow & Clyde (1); Grampian (3); Fife (2); Lothian (1).

The Government has pledged a further £46m for research into a vaccine and rapid diagnostic tests.
