Coronavirus in Fife: New cases at all-time high

The number of new coronavirus cases in Fife has reached its highest daily level yet, higher even than when the virus was supposedly at its peak during lockdown.

According to today’s statistics there were 66 new cases today.

2005 cases have now been detected in Fife since the start of the outbreak, up from 1939 yesterday.

On September 2, there were just 1000 cases in Fife, meaning the area has now seen as many cases in the last seven weeks as it had the previous six months.

The number of people currently who have tested positive in Fife hospitals is now 20.

A total of 926,396 people in Scotland have been tested at least once. Of these people, 52,615 have tested positive.
