In recent months the rainbow has become a symbol of thanks to, and recognition of, NHS staff during the Covid-19 pandemic.

And now those going to work at Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital have a permanent reminder of how their efforts at this challenging time are appreciated by the community thanks to one Fife business.

Towards the end of last week Wrightline Roadmarkings Ltd, based in Cowdenbeath, painted the special colourful thank you message at the main entrance of the hospital.

In a social media post, NHS Fife wrote: “Wrightline wanted to channel their expertise to create a lasting legacy of thanks at the Victoria Hospital and got in touch with us via Facebook.

“The area was deliberately chosen so that patients and staff can see it on their way into work and from the windows of wards.”

Inevitably falling advertising revenues will start to have an impact on local newspapers and the way we continue to work during this period of uncertainty.

The support of our readers has never been more important as we try to make sure that we keep you connected with your community during this time. But being your eyes and ears comes at a price. We need your support more than ever to buy our newspapers during this crisis.

Our team of trusted reporters are working incredibly hard behind the scenes - from kitchen tables and spare bedrooms - to look at how we can do this, and your continued support of our newspapers across Fife will help to protect their viability in the days and weeks ahead.
