Coronavirus continues to grow in Fife despite slowdown

Another single new case of coronavirus has been detected in Fife, as the rate of new infections appears to be slowing down, according to new figures released today.

Coronavirus cases in Fife have increased since March.

An update on cases in Fife shows total positive cases is now 826, just one number more than yesterday.

It follows a series of only small increases and occasional halts in the number of new cases detected.

In Fife hospitals, there are currently 72 known cases, down from 74 yesterday.

There are less than five people currently in intensive care.

A total of 92,594 people in Scotland have been tested. Of these, 14,751 were positive.

177 people have now died from coronavirus in Fife, it was confirmed earlier today.

The latest figures released by the Scottish Government show that Fife 15 more people die this week.

Of the 177 deaths in Fife, 66 occurred in care homes, with 15 at home, and 96 in hospitals.
