Coronavirus figures show Fife rise slows down

An update on the number of cases in Fife today shows the total number of positive cases at 692, up from 681 yesterday.

In Fife hospitals, there are currently 146, known cases, with six in intensive care.

A total of 85 people are now known to have died of the virus in Fife, up from 46 the previous week.

Across Scotland, 1616 people have died since the first death certificate mentioned covid19 just over a month ago.

A total of 51,499 people in Scotland have been tested. Of these: 10,721 were positive.

North of the border, 537 deaths due to coronavirus have now been reported in care homes, with 910 hospital deaths and 168 at home.

The latest death statistics cover the period between April 13 and 19.
