A spokesman for Kinghorn RNLI said: “Due to the current developing situation with Covid-19 we have taken the decision to postpone our planned Yellow Welly tea.

“This event was due to be held on Saturday, March 21, but we will now look to rearrange for later in the year.

“Our volunteer crew will continue to respond to call outs, but we need to reduce the risk of them becoming infected with Covid-19 to maintain our operational availability.

“Running an event like the Yellow Welly tea could increase this risk and it seems likely there will also be restrictions on events like this in the near future.

“Thank you for your continued support and we will let you know about rearranged dates in due course. At the present time we still hope to run our Mayday Coastal Challenge event on May 17.”
