Coronavirus: Re-assurance over support for dealing with domestic violence

The re-aassurance came from Fife Violence Against Women Partnership.

It said support and advice is still available from a number of partners during the lockdown while the country tackle coronavirus.

And Sheila Noble, co-ordinator, urged anyone who needs help to get in touch.

Ms Noble said: “At a time when we all have to stay at home, support is available for those for whom home is not a safe place to be.

“There are a number of factors that can increase the risk of domestic abuse and sexual violence – enforced contact between partners, women feeling trapped and unable to leave, increased drinking at home, complications over child contact arrangements and reduced access to normal support routes.

“These are challenging times but services are still up and running and support is available and I would urge anyone who is struggling to get in touch.”
