Covid-19 cases at six Fife schools and nurseries

Six schools and nurseries across Fife have reported five or more Covid-19 cases among staff and pupils.

NHS Fife has released its latest weekly update, listing schools and nurseries where five or more contacts have had to self-isolate after contact tracing has taken place.

From Monday, March 8, to Sunday, March 14, the schools and nurseries affected were: Aberhill Primary School, Methil; Halbeath Nursery, Dunfermline; Newburgh Primary School nursery; Newport Primary School; and Pitreavie Primary School in Dunfermline.

NHS Fife said it was also aware of a cluster of Covid-19 cases amongst staff associated with Kirkcaldy West Primary School.

A total of nine individuals have tested positive for Covid-19, and NHS Fife’s Health Protection Team are working alongside Fife Council’s Environmental Health and Education services to reduce the opportunity for further transmission.

Anyone with the well-established symptoms of Covid-19, regardless of how mild, should immediately self-isolate and order a test on the NHS inform website www.nhsinform.scot or by calling 0800 028 2816.
