NHS Fife has confirmed that six residents at Matthew Fyfe Care Home in Dunfermline have tested positive for coronavirus so far, and confirmed there has been “loss of life” linked to the outbreak.
The exact number of deaths has not been revealed due to confidentiality reasons, but it is believed to be fewer than five.

A spokesperson for NHS Fife said: “Sadly, there has been loss of life connected to the cluster, however, the exact number is too small to release for reasons of confidentiality.
“Our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones at this difficult time.
“NHS Fife’s health protection team and the Fife health and social care partnership is working alongside Fife Council’s environmental health service to support the management of the care home and to help reduce further transmission of the virus.”
