Fife coronavirus deaths climb

A total of 143 people are now known to have died in Fife, up to Sunday, May 3.

Last week’s numbers showed 118 people had died, up from 85 the previous week.

Of those deaths, 54 have occured in care homes, with 74 in hospital, and 15 at home.

The numbers show incidents where covid19 was mentioned on the death certificate, which means some may not have been tested for the virus but doctors have thought it to be a contributing factor in the death.
