Today’s Scottish Government figures show the total number of positive cases recorded in the health board region since the outbreak began is now 1165.

Scottish Government figures show that there were fewer than five people in intensive care at midnight. This has been the case since June 2.

Less than five people with the virus are also in hospital.

There were 486 new cases of coronavirus in Scotland reported today – the highest single day’s number since mass testing began - with two new deaths recorded.

A total of 738,733 people in Scotland have been tested and of these people, 25,495 were positive and 713,238 were confirmed negative.

The figures come a day after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced new restrictions to be imposed across the country.
