Fife records another coronavirus death as cases rise again

A further death attributed to Covid-19 has been recorded in Fife, while the number of confirmed cases rose again, the latest figures show.

The number of confirmed Coronavirus deaths in the Fife region rose by one to 128.

In total there were 13 newly recorded deaths, which brings the total number of fatalities in Scotland to 2,585.

So far 1775 cases have now been detected in Fife since the start of the outbreak, up from 1743 yesterday, meaning that 32 cases have been registered since yesterday.

During her daily briefing, Nicola Sturgeon confirmed 31 more people are being treated in hospital with Covid-19 compared to yesterday bringing the total number to 601 as of October 15.

Since last week, the number of patients in intensive care with the virus has doubled and has now reached 51.

Across Scotland, a total of 1,914,373 tests have been carried out. Of these, 44,036 have been positive.
