Fife support centre for pupils closed as COVID links force staff to isolate

A centre which supports Fife school pupils faces a spell of closure after staff were identified as contacts of positive COVID cases, and told to isolate.

The doors to the Pupil Support Service at Rimbleton, Glenrothes, will stay closed until November 18.

NHS Fife said there was one positive COVID case associated with the school.

It confirmed closure was due to “staffing issues after a number were identified as contacts and instructed to isolate.”

It also said one positive COVID case was associated with Rimbleton Primary.

It added: “In each case, close contacts have been identified and instructed to isolate as a precaution.

The cumulative number of positive cases since the start of term now stands at two.

NHS Fife said: “Where there is more than one confirmed case, this does not necessarily suggest transmission within the school and may relate to a sibling or household group, or it may be separate incidences of community-acquired infection.”

Anyone with symptoms should self-isolate and order a test.
