Four new positive cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Fife.

Friday’s daily Scottish Government figures show the health board region has now had 937 confirmed cases of Covid-19 since the outbreak began – an increase of four from Thursday.

This is the region’s first increase in recorded cases since July 9, and it’s the area’s largest single increase for some time.

Across Scotland there were 17 new confirmed cases over night and no Covid-19 related deaths.

The data shows there are currently less than five people in Fife hospitals who have been confirmed as having Covid-19.

Fifeteen patients in hospital are suspected as having the virus.

A total of 314,898 people in Scotland have been tested to date through NHS Scotland labs and the UK Government’s testing programme. Of these, 296,497 were confirmed negative and 18,401 were positive.
