The Kirkcaldy Foodbank is set to re-open today after closing its doors for a day to re-evaluate its social-distancing policy.
All of the foodbank’s normal distribution points will be open with tighter social-distancing procedures across all points, only two people will be allowed into a distribution point at anytime, visitors will be asked to apply hand sanitiser before entering the building and distribution points will also be observing a one-way system to avoid unnecessary contact between people.
The opening times of the distribution points are, Viewforth Church Hall, Mondays 10am-3pm, Tuesdays 10am-1pm, Wednesdays 10am-3pm, Linton Lane Community Centre, Monday to Friday 10am-12:30pm, Solid Rock, Tuesdays 10:30am-12:30pm and Fridays 12pm-2pm, Link Living (agency referrals only) 9am-2pm and New Volunteer House, Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10am-12.30pm.
The foodbank was temporarily shut to the public yesterday to allow for a re-assessment of its operating procedures, staff were unable to maintain a safe social-distance between themselves and users of the foodbank as the number of people visiting the foodbank has surged due to coronavirus.
