New coronavirus cases appear in Fife as hospital numbers grow

Fife now has now had 882 total confirmed positive tests since the start of the outbreak.

Today’s figures showed that 57 people in Fife are currently in hospital with the virus, an increase of four from yesterday.

A total of 132,001 people in Scotland have been tested through NHS labs to date. Of these, 15,682 were positive.

A total of 192 people have now died in Fife as a result of coronavirus, according to new figures.

It means a further three people have died since last week’s update.

72 of those deaths have occurred in care homes, with 16 at home, and 104 in hospitals.

The latest death statistics cover the week between June 1 and June 7.
