Number of coronavirus cases in Fife hospitals drops

An update on the number of cases in Fife today shows the total number of positive cases at 784, up six from 778 yesterday.

The increase between yesterday and the day before was down to just two.

In Fife hospitals, there are currently 89 known cases, down from 125 yesterday, There are six currently in intensive care.

A total of 63,311 people in Scotland have been tested. Of these, 12,437 were positive.

In Fife 118 people are now known to have died of the virus, up from 85 last week.

Across Scotland, 2,272 people have died with covid19 mentioned on the death certificate since the first appearances began in mid-March.

North of the border, 886 deaths due to coronavirus have now been reported in care homes, with 1,188 hospital deaths and 197 at home.

The latest death statistics cover the period between April 20 and 26.
