A member of staff at a private nursery in Methil has tested positive for Covid-19.

NHS Fife confirmed the individual works at Poppyview Family Centre Nursery School in Methil.

On Wednesday the health board said the positive case continues to have mild symptoms and remains self isolating at home with other household members.

NHS Fife says there continues to be no evidence of any onward transmission within the nursery school and the risk of contracting coronavirus for both children and nursery staff remains low.

The parents and carers of infants in Room 2 at the nursery are being contacted by the NHS Test and Protect Team following a risk assessment by NHS Fife and will be provided with appropriate public health support and advice.

Parents are advised youngsters in the room must isolate for 14 days from Wednesday, September 2 and up to and including Tuesday, September 15.

They can return to nursery on Wednesday, September 19 providing they remain symptom free.
