NHS Fife says that the Drop Off area and Blue Badge spaces at the Main Entrance will also remain accessible.

The health board added: “We apologise for the inconvenience and wish to reassure patients, visitors, and staff that both car parks will be reopened as soon as possible once the weather warning has expired.”

In August patients and visitors emerged to see their cars floating around in the car park after heavy thunderous downpours.

Fife was hit particularly hard by August’s floods, with road closures, landslides, and in some cases damages to buildings.

Cardenden saw more than a dozen houses filled with water amid claims it took Fife Council several days to respond to residents’ concerns.

Meanwhile Burntisland was temporarily cut off with all roads out of town rendered unusable.

A number of caravans were evacuated due to landslides at Pettycur Bay.
