Fifers sign up for outdoor fitness classes as facilities remain closed

With gyms and leisure centres still closed under lockdown restrictions, Fife Sports & Leisure Trust (FSLT) launched an outdoor programme of classes.

And since they re-started, they have been fully booked - with customers asking for more.

The sessions are currently available at Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre in Glenrothes; Duloch Leisure Centre and Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre and need to be booked online in advance.

Indoor facilities don’t re-open until April 26, in line with Scottish Government rules.

The trust’s 100 Mile Step Challenge came to an end at the weekend with 136 locals registering to taking part.

Fiona Prendergast, wellbeing and programming manager, said: “We have been really pleased with the reaction to our outdoor fitness programme.”She added: “It’s hugely rewarding for our instructors to see how popular the sessions are and that participants are really enjoying them. “
