Alex Rowley, Mid Scotland and Fife, said the Scottish Government’s announcement would be welcomed by patients across the region.

High Street practices can offer a full range of treatments from re-open from November 1.

Mr Rowley said: “It has understandably been a difficult time for dentistry given the nature of the pandemic and the delay in returning services was prolonged by the Scottish Government distributing out-of-date PPE to dentists back in August.”

He called for an assurance all safety measures would be in place.

Mr Rowley added: “Returning to a full range of treatments will provide much needed care for patients who have had to wait so long for treatment.

"It is vital that full safety measures are in place, and every step must be taken to mitigate any risks, both for dentists, staff and the patients, but overall this is a welcome and necessary return of service.”
