Kirkcaldy woman in Sir Chris Hoy ride for Maggies
A Kirkcaldy woman is taking part in Sir Chris Hoy’s Tour De 4 this weekend amid he own battle with cancer.
Liz McElroy was diagnosed with stage 3 lymphoma in March this year and has spent the summer going through chemotherapy.
On Sunday she will be riding for Maggie's Fife, whose centre at her hospital has been a source of support throughout her treatment.
The Tour de 4 was launched by Olympic legend Sir Chris Hoy following his own Stage 4 cancer diagnosis, and Liz says she signed up partly to help share his message about making the most of every day.

Tour de 4 – starting and finishing at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow – brings together people affected by cancer to challenge perceptions, inspire hope and raise vital funds for cancer charities across the UK.
Four inclusive cycling options range from a 1km family ride and a static-bike challenge to the 56-mile Red Ride.
Fundraising supports Breast Cancer Now, Cure Leukaemia, Maggie’s, Prostate Cancer UK and Macmillan Cancer Support, with participants also able to fundraise for a UK cancer charity of their choice.
