Lundin Golf raises £12,000 for BHF in memory of treasured friend
An annual charity golf day that attracted nearly 100 players from across Fife and further afield has raised £12000 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Held at Lundin Golf Club and Lundin Ladies Golf Club in the East Neuk of Fife, the charity was chosen by the golf committee in memory of their friend John Moncrieff, who passed away.
Sponsored by Campion Homes, the housebuilder has been a longstanding supporter of the event, and welcomed a wide variety of teams.
Participating golfers took part in a range of challenges including nearest the pin, putting and the yearly favourite Beat the Pro competition.
Lundin Golf Club head professional, Ron Walker, donated his time to run the Beat the Pro challenge, with the Pro Shop generously providing the competition prize.
The total raised was boosted by a charity raffle and auction, supported by Campion Homes’ suppliers and subcontractors and the wider local business community. Almost 50 companies donated prizes, while Stuart’s the Bakers & Butchers provided breakfast for the golfers before tee-off.
Pete Bell, Chairman of Campion Homes, said: “This event is always a highlight of the year, bringing together colleagues, partners, friends and supporters for a fantastic day while raising money for an important cause. This year was particularly special as we supported the British Heart Foundation in memory of John.
“The generosity shown by everyone involved was remarkable, and the £12000 raised will help the British Heart Foundation continue its vital work funding lifesaving research and supporting those affected by heart and circulatory disease.”

Campion Homes has proudly supported the annual golf day for many years, and the event continues to highlight the strength of the local community and the difference businesses, clubs and individuals can make when they come together for causes that matter.
David McColgan, Head of BHF Scotland, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Campion Homes for this generous donation. Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love to cardiovascular disease, the world’s biggest killer, but with support of our wonderful public fundraisers, British Heart Foundation continues to power groundbreaking research to save and improve lives.”
