As such, those who visited the premises around the time that the positive case was present are being contacted and asked to remain vigilant of the signs and symptoms of Covid-19.

Following a risk assessment based on the available information, NHS Fife said it believes the risk of onward transmission to be low.

Contact tracers from the Test and Protect Team are in the process of identifying and tracing the known contacts of the positive cases to provide public health advice.

NHS Fife deputy director of public health, Dr Esther Curnock, said: “Contact tracing is a tried and tested method of breaking the chains of transmission for communicable viruses such as Covid-19.
