The numbers continue to show that the virus appears to be slowing down, more so in Fife, with many other areas still seeing steeper increases.

It comes after roughly two weeks of only tiny increases in Fife, with numbers at a standstill for days on end.

Between May 14 and 28, Fife’s total number of cases went from 823 to 830, while in the same time period the Scottish average rose from 1008 to 1092.

Across Scotland, the number of people to have tested positive for the virus now stands at 15,418.

A total of 2,363 patients who tested positive have died, an increase of one in 24 hours.

All together 115,259 people in Scotland have been tested for the virus through NHS labs, with 99,841 testing negative.
