The news came in a tweet from NHS Fife which said:  “Health and well-being thank you packs are currently winging their way to our staff. The packs are a small token of appreciation to those who worked tirelessly during COVID-19 and contain a variety of useful items. ”

The packs are funded entirely out of donations the service has received throughout lockdown.

Simon Fevre staff side representative for NHS said: “Out of covid 19, I wanted to do something for our staff.

“We have had  significant donations from the people of Fife and I really wanted to give something back – a small gift but a big thank you to our staff.

“There’s been a lot of support for NHS staff over this period, I think it’s just nice to give something back.”

The packs will be distributed to NHS Fife sites over the coming few weeks.

Mr Fevre added: “It’s a hard bit of work to do to get it to everyone- it’s a bit of a logistical nightmare but I think the team have got it really well-organised.”
