Three Fife schools and nursery confirm covid cases

Fife has seen three more positive coronavirus tests at schools today, along with another at a nursery, as the number of cases in the Kingdom continues to rise.

Collydean Primary School in Glenrothes, Carnegie Primary in Dunfermline, Beath High School in Cowdenbeath, and Little Beehives Nursery in Kirkcaldy have all seen cases confirmed this morning.

The Kirkcaldy nursery, on Sang Road, has one case, and NHS Fife says close contacts have been instructed to isolate until Saturday October 17.

Beath High also has one confirmed case linked to the school, with close contacts in S3 being instructed to self-isolate until Wednesday October 14.

Carnegie Primary, which previously had three cases, has identified a fourth, with contacts being asked to isolate, however no additional classes are required to self-isolate.

Collydean Primary has one confirmed case linked to the school, but children are asked to attend as normal.

The news comes as Scottish Government figures showed that Fife reported 148 new cases in the last seven days.
