Victoria Hospital research facility named after retiring Dr Wood
The clinical research facility at Victoria Hospital has been renamed in honour of one of its driving forces on her retiral.
Dr Amanda Wood is leaving after 19 years with NHS Fife. She was the assistant director of research and development.

Hide AdDr Wood helped to develop and shape the department from small beginnings with just two members of staff, to a service of over 30.
The department coordinates a wide range of research studies, from international multi-centre drug trials to short-term student projects.
It will now be known as the Amanda Wood Clinical Research Facility.
NHS Fife said Dr Wood’s vision, drive and determination has been integral in highlighting the importance of research for both patients and staff.

Hide AdIt had resulted in opportunities for patients to access an array of research studies - and for staff to enhance their clinical skills.
Dr Chris McKenna, NHS Fife Medical Director, said: “Amanda has made a fantastic contribution to clinical research within Fife over the years, and many strong links to institutions and academic partners have been made thanks to her hard work.
“Effective patient care has always been at the heart of the department’s work, ensuring that a wide number of different kinds of research were possible.
