In Pictures: 150 years of the Fife Free Press

The Fife Free Press launched on Saturday, January 28, 1871 as Kirkcaldy’s first every penny paper.

Today, 150 years on, it remains the voice of the town – and is still part of the fabric of people’s lives.

It has chronicled the history of this town across the decades, noting everything from grievous losses in world wars to the triumphs of our sports teams, and the incredible moments which have shaped this town.

We look back on a century and a half of reporting faithfully and honestly with pictures from our archives which celebrate the newspaper and the people behind it.
