In the 1950s it drew massive crowds, and to be chosen as the Pageant King and Queen was considered an honour.
After an absence of several decades, local man, Colin Murray, kick-started it in the 1990s, and, together with a team of volunteers, he brought back some of the event's magic to Beveridge Park.
