But, sadly, the doors are set to close permanently on Glenrothes Heritage Centre.
It’s loss will be felt by many who have supported it and enjoyed its many exhibitions.
While it was first mooted in the days of Glenrothes Development Corporation, it only took off after Linda Ballingall acted on an approach from the late Mike Delaney, former chief reporter of the Glenrothes Gazette to spearhead a campaign to make it happen.
As the trustees begin to work out how to dispose of their many items, we look back on just a few of the many highlights at the centre.
