It’s the second year running that Iain has won one of the prestigious awards, and this year he was the only UK chocolatier to win in the truffle and praline category of the competition against chocolatiers from acrossthe globe.

It was his new caramel with a twist of liquorice velvet truffle that scooped the award and Iain was delighted.

“Liquorice is a flavour that sometimes gets a bad press,” he said, “but I’ve developed a chocolate that uses a gentle hint of liquorice with

white chocolate that has been caramelised to complement it. The balance of chocolate and spices is combined to create a complex chocolate that is above all delicious!”

The Scottish Chocolate Centre at Grandtully in Perthshire, home of the Highland Chocolatier, opened in 2010 and Iain Burnett is Scotland’s most awarded chocolatier and one of the top three in the UK.
