All the tresses and strains are worth it for charity

The Falkland hairdressers are supporting the MS Society and have so far taken part in two marathons and two ultra-marathons.
Motivated by two of their friends, who both suffer from Multiple Sclerosis, the sporting stylists have recognised that every day for them is the equivalent of running a marathon.

Hide AdScott has taken part in three competitive races this year and Lisa has run her first marathon.
Between them, they have put in over 1700 miles of training.
Among Scott’s ventures was the the Transvulcania ultra-marathon on the Canarian island of La Palma.
The race involved climbing over 17,000 ft, and running 47 miles over extremely tricky volcanic trails.

Hide AdHe has also completed the Edinburgh Marathon, getting a new personal best time before topping off the first half of the year by competing in the West Highland Way race, running 95 miles from Milngavie to Fort William in 20hrs 45 minutes and finishing 28 th overall.
While not tackling such extreme races, Lisa has also been putting in the miles, completing this year’s London Marathon in 4hrs 34mins.
Scott said: “This year, raising money for MS Society has really helped me focus on running further than I’ve ever done before.
“There have been some pretty tough runs but I know it’s not a patch on how tough it is living with MS every day.

Scott and Lisa are not settling with what they’ve achieved so far this year and are currently choosing which races they will run in the next six months, to help them continue their fundraising efforts.
Lisa said: “We decided to dedicate this year to raising money for MS Society, as MS is a disease which still has no cure and we’re acutely aware of how much research still needs to be done to find one.
“We set ourselves an initial target of raising £2000 and we’re delighted we’ve already smashed that.

The couple were very grateful to everyone who had supported them so far, such as friends, family and clients of their salon.
“Their support and generosity means so much to us both.”
