A Raith Rovers Select will take on a Legends XI at Stark’s Park on Sunday, April 10 at 2.30pm in memory of the club’s former media officer, who passed away in February aged just 53.

Special match tops have been designed for the occasion and despite the match being nearly a month away a sponsor has already been found for the Legends white away shirt.

Mark Ramsay of Piper Plumbing, who is also an ex-Cowdenbeath player, has kindly agreed to put forward the £500 sponsorship money and Alistair Cameron who is helping to organise the match, and worked with Ally as part of the Hall of Fame committee, said he was delighted.

“Mark’s dad Graham was one of Ally’s best friends,” he said.

“They worked at the docks together and used to talk about music a lot so I’m really delighted and pleased that we’ve not only got a sponsor, but there is that personal connection there.”

Mark will now have his name on all 22 tops and will get to keep any of the game worn shirts that aren’t sold after the match.

“Fans will have the chance to buy one of the jerseys which are going to be worn at the game,” Alistair said, “Though we can’t guarantee which one you’ll get, we can definitely assure you that it will be game worn.”

The match ball has also found a sponsor - Kirkcaldy electrician, Gordon Bak.

Alistair is now urging fans who want to wear the special #Allysgame shirt to the match not to hang about.

People can order either the blue home top, white away top, or a goalkeeper top too. They go from kids size to XL.

“We’ve already taken a number of orders which is great, so I’d ask fans to get in touch soon so they can get their shirt in time for the match.

“All profits will be going to Maggie’s Fife.”

Prices for the match day tickets will be released soon. If anyone wants to order a match day shirt they can go to ACA Sports on Kirkcaldy High Street or call and speak to Alistair or Sam on 01592 561017.
