Kirkcaldy to Aberdour was the first stage of our four-day journey which will end at Maggie’s Forth Valley centre in Larbert which officially opens its doors on Wednesday to complete Maggie’s footprint in Scotland.
The aim is to raise funds for Maggie’s Fife - the justgiving account is nudging nicely towards the first £1000 of donations - and to welcome Maggie’s Forth Valley to the team.

We started out from Maggie’s Fife after a hearty breakfast laid on by the centre staff. The bacon rolls were delicious as were the scrambled egg rolls ... the croissants ... and the pastries!
Photo-calls done, we set off through the town and down to the waterfront to begin our coastal path walk.
Conditions were perfect and we kept a steady pace along the Esplanade and on to Seafield Tower for a first stop.

Lunch was outside the Carousel in Kinghorn - the chill wind which suddenly came in off the Forth was offset by a glorious cappuccino from the restaurant before we headed back to the main road for the trek into Burntisland.
The walk down the road is easily the least interesting part of the path in this area, but the traffic was light so it passed quickly
We paused at the Links to read the plaque celebrating the who’s who of famous folk from Burntisland before heading on through the town and back on to the path which runs parallel to the railway line and offers some fine views of the Forth as you close in on Aberdour.

Aberdour station was our destination - and our starting point on Saturday morning.
Day two is another 13 miles which will take us across to west Fife.
You are welcome to join us for all, or part, of the walk to Limekilns.
