His dad, who has since raised money to install 800 defibrillators across the UK touched residents in Burntisland when he appeared on the BBC’s One Show.

Scott Sweaton, a senior charge nurse at NHS Fife, explained: “My neighbour was watching the show and came to see me afterwards to discuss it.

“Two of my three children are at Burntisland PS and I approached the headteacher who was really interested.”

A campaign has launched to raise £1500 to buy a school defibrillator for Burntisland and First Aid Service has agreed to train staff in its use.

“While Burntisland already has a defibrillator at the Co-op, there are easily over 1000 people congregating at the school at peak times,” saidScott.

“At the moment we have £225 which we’ve raised infour to five days. It’s pretty good going but we’re still a good way off our target.

“Every donation can save a life and we only need 300 people to donate £5 to raise our target. “This is a real community campaignand has a real community feel.”
