A celebration of Scottish-Arabic culture and heritage in Fife

The Mercat Shopping Centre hosted a celebration of Scottish-Arabic culture and heritage on Saturday when a visit by the Fife Arabic Society proved hugely popular.

Mercat Shopping Centre played host to a celebration of Scottish-Arabic culture and heritage on Saturday.

A range of activities took place throughout the day, including interactive workshops where members of the public were able to try writing in Arabic and painting.

Dr Bashir Oudeh, Fife Arabic Society vice chairman, said: “The Exhibition and workshops provided an excellent opportunity to the Arab community in Fife to share the journey to the Middle East, and discovery how Arabic Culture has shaped western civilisation and modern world.

“The event was a great success, attended by a diverse group of people and communities, and everyone enjoyed the activities and workshops with some very encouraging feedback.

“We are grateful to the Mercat Centre Management team for their excellent understanding and providing the valuable support.”
