Charity of the Year accolade for Fife Employment Access Trust

Each year the publisher shortlists three charities that focus on putting people into work, reflecting the recruitment industry and profession’s reason for being.

The winner is decided by an online vote and FEAT came out on top, recognising their work in the mental health employability field.

They will now receive proceeds from fundraising activities from the magazine’s gala events during the next year.

Duncan Mitchell, FEAT’s general manager, said: “It is a great honour to be acknowledged for our work on a UK-wide scale and whilst our work is rewarding, it is a further boost to the staff team to have their efforts and dedication recognised in such a way.”

The awards were held down in London and FEAT’s work was heavily promoted throughout the evening by ‘voice of the balls’ Alan Dedicoat. Donations are still be counted and collected, but it is expected around £5000 will have been raised towards FEAT’s wide-ranging work in mental health promotion and employment support.

Duncan added: “The donation is hugely welcomed and will make a great difference as we face another year of some uncertainty, like all charities, about future levels of funding.

“It will be put to good use for sure.”

The award adds to another accolade for FEAT, with the charity being awarded the Bronze Medal from the Healthy Working Lives programme earlier in the month.

The award programme supports employers and employees to develop health promotion and safety themes in the workplace in a practical, logical way, that’s beneficial to all.
